Weekend Happenings on a Wednesday

This weekend was jam packed! We had all kinds of plans made, and then we also had some things that came up that made this weekend a very tiring one.

On Friday nights I usally work at the Dairy Delight (Tyler's family owns it so we both work up there part time) We had just started our normal supper rush when we got a phone call from Tyler's uncle to check on his mom, which his Tyler's great grandmother who is 83. Jan and me drove over to her house and found her laying in the bathroom floor. It was a pitiful sight to see, it broke my heart knowing that she had fallen over a hour ago and had to scoot herself to the nearest phone to get in touch with someone. We ended up calling the ambulance just so that she could get checked out and that we would feel better knowing that she hadn't broken anything and that there wasn't something seriously wrong with her. Thank goodness she didn't break anything, but the doctors did discover she had a lung infection. She came home yesterday afternoon and is resting now.

Saturday morning, Tyler and me woke up rather early because we had a long day planned. We went over to his parents house and decided to shoot his new gun for a little bit. Let's just say I felt like a certified badass shooting that gun, which is hilarious because if you know me I am probably the furthest thing from badass there is.

After we got done shooting we headed home to get ready for an adoption celebration for my cousin. Her and her husband just adopted the sweetest, most handsome, and gentle little boy. He is such a blessing, and I could not be more happy for the three of them!

Sweet little Hayes
Crying or smiling he is still adorable

After the family gathering we headed to eat with my bio dad, his wife, and my half sister, Sarah. We had a good time, but by the end of the dinner we were definitely ready to head back home.
Molly and me

I had a rude awakening when I got home because I had tons of homework to do, and it definitely wasn't going to do itself.

Homework can SUCK IT!

Sunday was a day full of work at the Dairy Delight. It was a slow day, and we had to pass time somehow. I would say we were pretty productive ;)

Happy HUMP Day

My family

Now I am going to introduce you the people who have put up loved me the longest, my family!
We are a crazy, dysfunctional, loud, loving, opinionated, and supportive bunch. I definitely would not be the person I am without these amazing people.

First up is my momma. She is the STRONGEST person I know. She has been through so much and has persevered through it all. She is such an inspiration to me. She does so much for all of us, and sacrifices more than any of us know. She has always taught me to be an independent woman and never depend on any man or anyone for that matter. We may not always see eye to eye on things, but I know without a doubt that she loves me and supports me more than anyone in this world.

Next up is my daddy.  He goes above and beyond over and over for my sisters and me. He fixes anything and everything and if he can't figure it out he will find someone who can for us. He not only does that for us, but for anyone who needs help. He is just a good ole country guy that has always provided for us working from sun up to sun down. I am pretty much a Daddy's girl, and would be completely lost without my daddy.

My sister, Molly, is only a couple years younger than me & growing up we were super brats to each other, but as we have gotten older we have also become closer and nicer ;) She has a little boy, Christian, who has stolen my heart and she has another little boy, Noah, on the way who should make his debut towards the end of May. She is so sweet and kind and goes out of her way for others more than anyone I know. She still drives me crazy sometimes when she comes over and steals my clothes, but she does clean my house occasionally for me so I guess I will let it slide.

My sister, Natalie, is about 6 and a half years younger than me, but we are really close. She is an extreme goody goody and tends to always make me look like a hellion, but I kinda like it like that. She is an inspiration to young and old...so many people put on this face and try to pretend they are something they are not. My sister is one of those people who can talk the talk, but she also walks the walks. She is a worship leader at her church and also in the process of becoming leadership in her youth group. I couldn't be more proud to be her older sister!

Lastly, is my outrageously adorable nephew, Christian. He is 5 years old and he is an absolute hoot! My sister had him when she was only 15 so we have all played major roles in his raising. He is definitely all boy. He loves Alabama football more than any kid I know, he loves being outside, and he loves school. He has been such a blessing in all of our lives. When he was born our family was in a really dark place, but he brought us all joy and really brought us all together again. He may not have been planned, but God definitely had a plan when he brought this sweet little boy into our lives!

Have a Happy Monday!

My girls!

Yesterday, I introduced you to my man and today I am going to introduce the girls in my life. These women help keep me in line (which is no easy task) and at the same time give me the encourangement and love I need to make it through life. I have no clue where I would be without any of them. I am so blessed to have kept these few best friends for the past several years. I know some women go through friends like they do clothing, but I cherish these deep rooted friendships and I am so thankful that they keep blossoming as we grow older.

First, I will introduce you to my best friend, Ash. She is an absolute goofball and such a ball of energy. She walks into a room and lights it up with her smile and her joyus personality. She has more perseverance than any other person I know and she is an inspiration to everyone who meets her. I met Ashley the summer before 9th grade at band rehersal...yes, we were in the band. I will never forget that day and I often remind her about how hideously she was dressed, Ha! It didn't take long for us to realize that we would soon become inseperable. She was definitely my partner in crime throughout high school;  although I wouldn't really say partner in crime because she was definitely a goody good girl and she probably kept me from getting into a lot of trouble! We made a pact that we would be each other's Maid of Honor's whenever the time came to get married, and this past December I had the privilage and the honor of fulfilling those duties.

The second lady I am going to introduce you to is Brittan. I have always considered her one of my good friends, but over the past couple of years we have become very close. We also met in band, and I swear we weren't your typical band geeks in high school. We did have a life outside of it! We were on colorguard together my sophomore and junior year, her junior and senior year. We were constantly finding our way into some kind of mischievousness, and everyone seemed to blame everything on us two. Brittan is by far the funniest human being you will ever meet. She always has me laughing, and I swear she knows every YouTube video there is. She is the kindest, most geniune, and down to earth person I know. I like to refer to Brittan as my Barbie friend, for obvious reasons. She also fishes for FLW...how cool is that?

The last lady I am going to introduce you to is Jan. She is actually Tyler's mother and in the years Ty and me have been together we have grown extremely close. We definitely do not have your typical MIL and DIL relationship & I thank God for that. She is one of the few people in this world that I can be my absolute & total self in front of. There are no walls up when I am around her. She has seen my crazy and she has seen my sad and she loves me the same. She has such a giving heart to everyone around her; she would literally go without just so someone wouldn't. We always have an absolute blast rather we are at a concert, out to eat, or sitting at home. There is never a dull moment when we are together and people often refer to us as the Dynamic Duo. We, all the time, are asked if we our mother and daughter and if drives Tyler absolutely crazy. I must say sometimes it freaks me out how much we are alike in so many different ways
She only thinks she is the princess!
Typical picture of the two of us.
Fun night in Nashville seeing my celebrity boyfriend, Luke Bryan!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

My man!

I want to introduce you to the people who mean the most to me and help keep me sane, most of the time!

I will start out with my fiance, Tyler. We have been together for nearly 6 years and have been engaged for about 2 and a half. We like to joke and say we are eternally engaged. We dated some throughout highschool, but by the time our junior year rolled around we were in serious relationships with other people. The summer after highschool graduation we both found ourselves single around the same time and we started dating again.

About a month into our rekindled relationship Tyler had a major car accident. Like we didn't know if he would make it and if he did would he be able to walk or even remember who we are. He ended up breaking his neck, the C1 and C2 vertabrae, he had severe head trauma, and was bruised and swollen from head to toe.

I couldn't begin to prepare myself enough for what I was going to see when I walked into is ICU room. I can still feel the hurt, the anxiety, and the absolute total fear I had seeing him for the first time. I walked in and squeezed his hand, whispered "I love you", and then had to run to the nearest restroom because it made me physically sick to see him in such bad shape. He was in a halo for 3 months and in the hospital for about a month. When he woke up from his medically induced coma about a week later we both knew we couldn't do this alone. He reached his arms out to me and pulled me close to him telling me that his biggest fear was not seeing me again. All he could do was rub my hair and my face and tell me he loved me, and to this day every time I think of that crucial and defining moment in our relationship it brings tears to my eyes. That was a turning point for us. We both knew right then and there that we were in it for the long haul.

Tyler's recovery was quicker than the doctors had thought it would be. He is definitely a fighter and looking at him today it is hard to believe that he was ever in that position. He is stronger and better than he was before the wreck.
This man has been my rock through some bad times and has been my partner in crime in the fun times. Not sure where I would be without him and his love.

What's in Your Purse

This is my first link up & my fingers are crossed that I am doing this correctly. If I am not please give me some pointers :)

My purse is ALWAYS a chaotic mess. It is a complete and total bottomless pit, & I am constantly digging through it to try and find things. Most of the time I am not even able to find stuff without pulling things out one by one. But it is so CUTE that I can't seem to part with it just yet. I bought it at TJ Maxx last Spring and I have pretty much carried it everyday since. It goes with anything and everything and the bright teal is just the pop of color I love.
I have an assortment of crap thrown in here. So let's dive in and see what's in there.
I have my lotion, Dr. Jart's beauty balm, antibacterial hand gel, prescription cream for dry skin, and an extra pair of earrings because you never know when you will need them.
I have my checkbook and my register with no less than 5 pens, pencils, and highlighters.
And since I am so ocd about my teeth and I ALWAYS have floss, toothbrush, tooth paste, and a Crest whitestrip.
I have my wallet, planner (my lifesaver), eyeglasses (I should but don't wear) in their case, phone charger, mirror, and Under Armour headband.
I have my meds and vitamins that I take daily.
And last but not least some H2O!!

I also have all kind of loose change and dolla dolla bills floating in there too. I did have crumbled up receipts, but since I took everything out I went ahead and toss those out.
Happy Friday Friends!!

Spirited Art

So what do I get when I mix painting and drinking? Apparently I am the new Picasso or maybe that was just the wine speaking. This week I went to a Spirited Art class, which is basically an excuse to have a girls night out! Count me in, pretty please! It's a step by step paint class where you can get your drinky drink on and at the end of the night you get to take home your pretty painting! If you have never been to a class like this I suggest going to one A to the SAP!
My girl, Jan, and me about to get our paint on!

I have been to several different Spirited Art classes, but I think this one has been my favorite one so far. I love the quirkiness of this painting.

The Step by Step Process

I always leave a class astonished by what I have just created. I am telling you now that from a girl that doesn't have a creative bone in her body that ANYONE can do these classes. So get on the internet and search to see if they have similar classes to where you live so you can start painting it up too!

I think it looks perfect in the corner of my living room!
